What is a Nexus Letter (Independent Medical Opinion)?

A Nexus Letter is a physician’s written opinion that connects your current condition to your military service. Our board-certified MDs use VA-preferred language to show your illness is at least as likely as not service-related. It bridges the gap between your records and the VA’s legal standard.

Do I always need a Nexus Letter to win my VA claim?

Not every claim needs one. If a VA C&P examiner has already documented the link, you may be set. But when the connection is unclear—especially for secondary conditions or past denials—our evidence-based opinion can make the difference.

How many letters will I need?

You need one letter per condition. If you are claiming migraines and PTSD, you’ll need two letters—each with its own reasoning and citations.

Starting July 1 2025, our standard turnaround is 14 days once we have your complete records. Need it sooner? Ask about our 48-hour rush service, subject to physician availability.
