What is a Nexus Letter (Independent Medical Opinion)?

A Nexus Letter is a physician’s written opinion that connects your current condition to your military service. Our board-certified MDs use VA-preferred language to show your illness is at least as likely as not service-related. It bridges the gap between your records and the VA’s legal standard.

Do I always need a Nexus Letter to win my VA claim?

Not every claim needs one. If a VA C&P examiner has already documented the link, you may be set. But when the connection is unclear—especially for secondary conditions or past denials—our evidence-based opinion can make the difference.

How many letters will I need?

You need one letter per condition. If you are claiming migraines and PTSD, you’ll need two letters—each with its own reasoning and citations.

How fast can I get my letter?

Starting July 1 2025, our standard turnaround is 14 days once we have your complete records. Need it sooner? Ask about our 48-hour rush service, subject to physician availability.

What information must I supply?

Provide your service medical records, recent VA or private treatment notes, prior rating decisions if available, and any lay or buddy statements that support your claim.

Who writes my letter and why does that matter?

Every letter is drafted and signed by a board-certified MD or DO with specialty expertise in your condition. Credentials and experience carry weight with VA adjudicators.

Can you diagnose or treat me?

We provide independent medical opinions based on existing diagnoses and records. For treatment, please consult your regular healthcare provider.

Do you file or track my VA claim?

We focus on the medical side. An accredited Veterans Service Officer or attorney can file and track your claim. We’ll gladly coordinate with them.

Is success guaranteed?

No ethical provider can promise approval. We strengthen your case with clear, evidence-based reasoning, but final decisions rest with the VA.

What does it cost and do you offer payment plans?

Medical record review costs $200, each Nexus Letter is $600, and DBQs are $150 each. All fees are due before release, but we offer interest-free payment plans.
